Submitting an Article Online

Submission Preparation Checklist


As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.


• The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).

• The submission file is in Microsoft Word format.

• The text is single-spaced; uses a 10-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the

   text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

• Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.

• The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.


Author Guidelines

General Instructions


Authorship

The Future Cities and Environment published by Cerebration Science Publishing, adheres to the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) guidelines, which

require that authorship be based on the following four criteria:


1. Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work, or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND

2. Drafting the work or reviewing it critically for important intellectual content; AND

3. Final approval of the version to be published; AND

4. Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are properly investigated and resolved.


Contributors who do not meet these criteria should be acknowledged separately. For further guidance, please refer to the ICMJE recommendations.

Please ensure that the authorship is finalized before submission, as changes post-submission require significant justification.


Paper Submission

Authors are encouraged to submit their manuscripts through the Future Cities and Environment online submission system. This system ensures streamlined processing and tracking of your submission.


Paper Acceptance

The decision to publish is made by the Editor-in-Chief, following recommendations from the Editorial Board Members. Manuscripts accepted for publication in FCE must not be

published elsewhere without explicit permission from the editorial board.


Proofs

Proofs will be sent to the corresponding author and should be returned within 48 hours of receipt. Corrections should be limited to typesetting errors; any additional corrections may

incur charges. Authors must carefully review their proofs as late changes are not acceptable.


Order of Parts

When preparing your manuscript, please follow this sequence:

1. Title of the Article

2. Authors' Names and Affiliations

3. Abstract (200-300 words suitable for abstracting services)

4. Main Text

5. Tables (each starting with a caption)

6. Figure Captions

7. List of Symbols and Abbreviations (if necessary)

8. Acknowledgments (if applicable)

9. Funding Information

10. Author Contributions

11. Conflict of Interest Statement

12. Data Availability Statement (if applicable)

13. Numbered List of References

14. Biographical Sketch

15. Original Figures


Title

The title should be concise and clearly describe the content of the paper, using keywords appropriate for retrieval purposes.


Author Names and Affiliations

FCE policy requires that all contributors who have significantly participated in the technical aspects of the paper be recognized as co-authors or acknowledged. For multi-authored

papers, the corresponding author will be the first author unless otherwise indicated.

Include the following for each author:

• Full Name (First Name, Middle Initial, Last Name)

• Institutional Affiliation (Department, University, etc.)

• Full Postal Address

• Country

• Contact Information (Telephone, Fax, Email)


Abstract

The abstract should be 200-300 words and include:

1. A clear indication of the objective, scope, and results of the paper.

2. Keywords and phrases for indexing, abstracting, and retrieval purposes.

The abstract should be informative yet concise, enabling readers to quickly ascertain the paper’s relevance to their interests.


References

References should be listed at the end of the manuscript and numbered in the order they appear in the text. Follow these formats:

• Journal Article: A. Bonnaccorsi, “On the Relationship between Firm Size and Export Intensity,” Journal of International Business Studies, vol. 23, no. 4, pp. 605–635, 1992.

The Future Cities and Environment accepts the following types of manuscripts:


Original Articles

These articles present original research and should include the most recent and relevant references in the field. The structure should be:

Review Articles

Review articles provide a comprehensive summary of recent advances in the field with a balanced perspective and outlook for the future. The structure should be:
